Learn moreBecoming a lifesaver is an incredibly rewarding role. Not only are you keeping the public safe but you will also make great memories and friendships that last a lifetime.
To become a Surf Lifesaver you need to be 15 years of age and undertake the Bronze Medallion course. This provides you with the necessary skills and knowledge of patrolling and surf awareness in order for you to participate in lifesaving operations.
Sandon Point prides itself in having the largest number of Nippers in the Illawarra. Our Nipper Program is for kids aged 5 to 14 years old, and is a great way to learn surf safety and skills. Kids will take part in both sand and ocean activities, gradually building their skills and confidence as they grow.
