ABOUT SANDON POINT SURF CLUB
Sandon Point Surf Life Saving Club was established in 1961 and is located in Bulli in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia. Sandon Point Beach is patrolled by volunteer lifesavers who give generously of their time to protect the many locals and visitors who frequently visit this popular beach. We would like to thank our members for their continued efforts to make our beach a safer place.

Our History
1961 | Sandon Point Surf Life Saving Club was officially opened |

1965 | In June the our first club house is burnt down |
1966 | On 18 December 1966 the southern portion of the club was officially opened by G.Grant President of SLSI |
1972 | Toilet block was erected on the northern side of the club house at a cost of $5000 |
1980 | Sandon Point nearly closed by Surf Life Saving NSW. It was saved by Trevor Mott, Tim Gripton and Terry Hagan |
1982 | The timber balcony was erected by Wollongong TAFE student development program |
1994 | An old fridge burnt out and exploded setting fire to the inside of the club house |
1995 | Members painted internal walls and improved security and storage of the building |
1999 | Club house was bag & rendered, electrical and amenities upgraded at a cost of $60,000 |
2013 | Club house was re-opened after being extensively renovated at a cost of $3.7 million. |
Life Members
Life Membership is the highest honour within a Surf Life Saving Club. Our life members are to be congratulated for their commitment to Surf Lifesaving and Sandon Point Surf Life Saving Club.
